Happy New Year

Happy New Year - Happy New Decade everyone and what a start its been. Between the devastation of the fires, the damage caused by this weeks’ hail, the dust storms and flash floods it’s been hard to find the time to comprehend the fact that we have moved into a new year let alone a new decade. I don’t know about you, but I remember bringing in a new century - and that was 20 years ago! It only feels like yesterday.

Even though it has been heartbreaking to see so much devastation it has also been heart-warming to see so much compassion and generosity. Just in our small community here I have been overwhelmed by the number of stitchers who have given up their time to come attend to our stitch-alongs to make quilts for those who have lost everything and support the Animal Rescue Craft Group make much needed items for injured wildlife. We have also seen donations of beautifully completed quilts that you have made and are prepared to give up without recognition or the need to know where it is going to. We have a dedicated group of sewers who continue on finishing quilts and the items required by the Animal Rescue Group. We know there are many more of you doing what you can to assist others in their time of need. I have been very humbled and feel very honoured to be part of such a community.

For those of you who are into New Years’ Resolutions we are pleased to be able to invite you to join an exclusive New Years’ kickstart challenge being run by our sister store The Source Bulk Foods (Dickson and Belconnen).
